Cure Cold Sores By Alkalinizing your Body

A statistic that may amaze you is that almost 90% of the world’s population has the herpes simplex virus. However, only a small percentage of adults complain about and seek treatment for this virus from their doctor. There are a variety of medications on the market which can provide temporary relief. Tablets are often prescribed by the doctors. Creams are also prescribed which, if applied according to the specified directions, can treat your HSV – 1 virus externally. These creams, tablets, etc can provide you with temporary relief but for permanent relief you need to use both traditional and non traditional approaches.

The pH level in your body should be close to the normal level which is 7.0 and above. There are many other factors which can prevent your body from being in the normal pH range. Unhealthy food habits and stress can increase acidity in your body and make you susceptible to all kinds of diseases. Lack of oxygen or oxygen deficient bodies are highly prone to diseases. The herpes simplex virus is anaerobic and it cannot survive in the presence of oxygen. There are numerous ways by which you can increase oxygen content levels in your body. Exercise is a cost effective manner of increasing oxygen levels in your body. Exercise in the early morning hours is recommended because air has comparatively high levels of oxygen. Exercise should be done systematically so that your body works every muscle group. This should improve the oxygen flow in your body. Exercise should be done with frequent breaks in between so as not to add stress on your body, rather than relieve it. Excessive exercise increases the acidity of your body due to lactic acid build up.

Stress is another very important factor which weakens the body, making it susceptible to disease. Stress and tension will increase the acidity of your system. Stress releases many different types of acids and harmful chemicals tin an attempt to cope with the situation you are in. This is of course useful if you are running away from a lion or escaping from a burning building. However, chronic stress is very hard on the body and increases the acidity content in your system.

Herpes simplex virus thrives in acidic and less oxygenated bodies and its attacks are frequent in when your body is in such a situation. The human body is a precise machine and it needs to be maintained using common sense and listening to what it is telling you.

Cold Sores are one of the most embarrassing things that you can have on your lip. You know when they’re coming because you start to feel a little tingle and the color of your lip changes slightly. You then start to think about what’s going to happen to your lip and how much it is going to change your schedule for the next two weeks because you’ll have that pesky thing on your lip.

I’m going to give you a simple cold sore home treatment that you can do that will help prevent cold sores from appearing.

Cold sores are a form of the the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) and many people suffer from this virus. Many more people than you would ever imagine suffer from this virus. You’re probably used to just waiting it out when a cold sore initially forms and spend the next 2 weeks hiding from all social situations and not wanting to have your picture taken. I’ve been there as well and it’s a blow to your ego when you see that nasty cold sore on your lip in pictures. It’s a constant reminder of something that you never thought you would be able to cure.

The simplest way to fight a cold sore is to prevent it from happening. Here are a few simple cold sore cures that you can do at home.

Toothpaste- you can choose to put toothpaste over the cold sore. This will cause the cold sore to dry out sooner and will speed up the healing process by a few days.

Ice Cubes- Ice cubes help to prevent the cold sore during the initial stages. During the initial stage is when the cold sore will be red and start to grow. If you place ice cubes on the cold sore at this point, it will slow down the swelling and sometimes prevent the cold sore from growing to be too big.

Lysine- Lysine is a vitamin that you can take that contains Vitamin C, Zinc, B6, and L-lysine in it’s HCl form and will all help to cut the time it takes for your cold sore to cure. Learn more about how lysine helps fight cold sores

All of these can be used as home treatments for cold sores and work great if you use them together.

There are other things that you can do that will work to prevent cold sores from ever coming back and you can learn more about them through the Cold Sore Free Forever course.

One of the best ways to deal with any diseases and illnesses is to focus on prevention instead of merely masking the symptoms with drugs. However, when prevention simply isn’t an option, you will have to start to search for a cure. The good thing about this is that there are natural cold sore medicines that can help you to shorten the amount of time it takes for your cold sore to cure.

Problem with Prevention…

The problem with prevention and masking illnesses in the area of cold sores is that there really is little attention being paid to preventing cold sores from occurring. In fact, there may not even be a complete cure in western medicine for natural cold sore cures. This may leave you wondering what on earth you can actually do about your cold sores and how you can naturally cure your cold sores.

The truth of the matter is that while there may not be a complete cure for the Herpes Simplex virus in western medicine, there are a number of natural cold sore medicines that will help you to minimize and even fight back the virus, although it may not cure the cold sore completely.

The Main Goals of These Medicines

Minimize the time needed to heal already developed cold sores

Increase the length of time a person will go through before developing another outbreak of cold sores

As you’ll see, neither of these goals are preventative by nature, and they aren’t even curing the virus. They are simply trying to play catch-up with the virus and to contain it as much as possible.

So are there other methods available to deal with cold sores?

Yes! There are a few natural cold sore medicines that will help you, although they look a little beyond the boundaries of western medicine. The good thing about these methods is that you don’t need to go to China to get these medicines.

Some of the top methods to use:

Have a strong and healthy immune system

Balance your pH levels

Increase your oxygen intake

Use toothpaste

By using these methods, your body will have a greater chance of developing a higher level of resistance to cold sores. If you’d like to learn just exactly how these methods work and what action steps you can take in order to get the biggest benefit from these methods, you’ll need to check out the Cold Sore Free Forever eBook.

You’re probably wondering how these methods actually work. The book explains how each section will help you with overcoming the recurring cold sore problem that you currently have. Using these methods together will actually help you prevent future outbreaks from happening and cure your cold sores forever. The answer actually lies in the structure of the cold sore virus. It is the fact that once you get to the scientific side of cold sores, you can deny the virus the genetic ability to multiply, therefore using a natural cold sore medicine to cure your cold sores forever.

You can learn all you need to know to get rid of cold sores forever by checking out the information in the book here.

There are a ton of natural and over-the-counter medicines to curing and preventing cold sores.

The main cause of cold sores and fever blisters are primarily caused by the herpes simplex virus. Cold sores on the lips and nearby areas are manifestations of oral herpes or herpes labialis, caused by the type 1 virus (HSV-1). These sores appear as red, fluid-filled blisters accompanied by pain, itching and burning sensations, and can be very unpleasant-looking and uncomfortable. If you’ve ever had a cold sore, you understand how much of a pain they can be.

12 Home Remedies For Treatment of Cold Sores

Home treatments for cold sores have been increasingly popular as they have been seen to be more effective in not only giving cold sore quick relief, but also in speeding up the healing process, preventing further recurrence and preventing others to contract them. Here are some cold sore remedies you can try within the comforts of your home:

Keep the cold sore clean and dry. It may seem to go against what you think you should do, however it’s best to keep your cold sore dry and clean. You should never try to conceal it with make-up because doing this leads to it taking longer to cure your cold sore.

Replace your toothbrush and don’t keep them in your bathroom. Having your toothbrush in your bathroom and not replacing it often can be another reason you keep breaking out. Your old toothbrush will most likely still have the virus for days after you are fully healed. It’s best to replace your toothbrush as soon as you start to get cured of your cold sore. Be careful where you store your toothbrush as well because if it is a moist area, the bacteria can grow.

Use the small toothpaste tubes. You might not realize it, but the virus can be spread on the toothpaste tubes. The more often you replace these, the less of a chance you will have another break out soon.

Protect the area with petroleum jelly. Petroleum jelly is awesome because it quickens the healing process and actually helps to prevent the spread of the infection. Remember to wash your hands after-wards or use a cotton swab when using petroleum jelly.

Put some zinc on it. Applying a water-based zinc solution a few times a day speeds up healing time because the zinc binds with the virus on a molecular level, which keeps it from replicating.

Take lysine supplement. Lysine supplements are one of the most well known cold cure cores and it’s because it flat out works. Lysine supplements and intake of lysine-rich foods such as potatoes and dairy products have been found to alleviate and shorten the duration of cold sores.

Identify cold sore triggers. You may notice a pattern happens when you get cold sores. For example they may come after you eat a certain type of food or drink a certain type of drink. By taking the time to identify the patterns, you can remove the causes at the root. this will minimize the number of outbreaks that you have.

Apply an ice cube. Take some ice cubes out of your freezer and apply it directly to the area when you start feel it tingling. Ice helps decrease the inflammation and severity of the cold sores.

Dab on some alcohol or witch hazel. Many people have found that by dabbing alcohol or witch hazel on the cold sore helps dry the sore out.

Protect the area from the sun or the wind. Always protect your lips from potential trauma caused by bright sunlight and wind exposure as these are usual triggering factors. You can use a chap stick with an spf in it to help prevent the breakouts from occurring.

Avoid foods rich in arginine. The herpes virus feeds on arginine so avoid them as much as you can. These include chocolate, grain cereals, cola, peas, peanuts, gelatine and beer.

Relax and stay healthy. There is no cure that is better than prevention. Avoid recurring blisters by relaxing, staying healthy and exercise. You should allow your body to have the best immune system you can ever have to defend you against viruses.

L-Lysine benefits

L-Lysine has various benefits which are useful for a person who is looking forward to strengthening their immune system.

L-Lysine is known as a protein building block for the entire body. It has the ability to absorb calcium, which in turn helps the body recover from sports related injuries and surgery because it builds muscle proteins.

L-Lysine’s ability of helping the body to boost the immune system is well known and if you head to a local health store you will see a large range of supplements that you can take which have L-Lysine in them.

Different forms of L-Lysine

You will be able to find this amino acid in everything from:

Creams

Tablets

Capsules

Liquids

Each of these forms will be sold in the L-Lysine form and you’ll also be able to find certain foods that contain L-Lysine as well. The foods that include these (which you should start incorporating into your diet to prevent cold sores include but are not limited to:

Brewer’s yeast

Cod

Sardines

Soybeans

Spirulina

Fenugreek seed

Eggs

Low fat fruit yogurt

Low fat yogurt

Fruits such as apples, apricots and pears

Milk – skim milk, goats milk and buttermilk

FAQS about L-Lysine

If you are to buy the 1000mg of L-Lysine you will find-

Vitamin C as a natural ascorbic acid and from Rose Hips

Zinc as an amino acid chelate, citrate and picolinate

Vitamin B6 as Pyridoxine HCl

L-Lysine as L-Lysine HCl

Other ingredients that you will find include magnesium, stearic acid, stearate and cellulose

For the full effect of L-Lysine you will need to take it on an empty stomach. If you take it on a full stomach, any arginine rich foods will interfere with the L-Lysine’s affect on your cold sores. You will not get sick or irritate your stomach by taking this on an empty stomach because your body recognizes it as a protein building amino acid. Most of the foods that we eat today don’t state whether they contain arginine or L-Lysine so I’ve compiled a list of these foods that are high in these amino acids and may be of some help to you. Also, you can use the internet to find more foods which are helpful to you when you have cold sores as well as finding the arginine foods that you should avoid.

Foods that contain arginine:

Chocolate

Cola

Chicken Soup

Seeds, nuts, peas

Gelatine

Beer

Cereal Grains

So what should you do when you have a cold sore and how can you use L-Lysine to diminish the time it takes to heal your cold sores?

You should take 2-3 tablets of your chosen L-Lysine supplement each day of your cold sores duration. As the supplement works best on an empty stomach, you should take it in between meals. Once the cold sore is fully cleared you can reduce the dose to 1 tablet a day. You may need to keep taking this supplement dose of 3 per day for another 2 weeks in order to guarantee that your body builds up its immunity against the cold sore virus. From this point onwards, you should actually start taking the L-Lysine as part of your overall dietary supplement as it can help your body fight off any future cold sore occurrences from happening.

If you are to develop a new bout of cold sores then you may actually need to increase the dosage back to 3 tablets a day until the cycle has been broken completely. You should only reduce this dose back to one tablet once the cold sore is completely gone. You should always consult your physician regarding the ideal dosage for your body.

What the heck is a cat’s claw and how would it help prevent cold sores?

The other name that cat’s claw goes by is una de gato, which sounds a little more like the name of an herb. Well, actually neither of them truly sound like the name of an herb, but that’s exactly what it is. The latin names for it are – Uncaria tomentosa and Uncaria guianensis if you are fluent in latin and think cat’s claw looks weird.

What Do Indigenous Peruvians Have To Do With Cold Sores?

This herb is actually an ancient remedy which was used by the indigenous Peruvians for a number of different health issues. They used the cat’s claw herb for many centuries to treat diseases, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s diseases, HIV and other viral infections like cold sores.

As well as being helpful in preventing these diseases, this herb has other helpful benefits such as strengthening the kidneys as well as boosting the immune system so that it may be capable of functioning at its optimum and is able to fight off various diseases and viruses in a shorter period of time.

Various Uses Of Cat’s Claw

You will find that there are various ways that you can use Cat’ Claw. This herb is available in various forms ranging from herbal tea, liquid extract and even in capsules. The inner bark of this herb is used in the preparation, this is where the chemicals Oxindole Alkaloids and Quinoic Acid Glycosides can be found. The chemical Oxindole Alkaloids is actually an immune system booster and the second chemical Quonoic Acic Glycosides are a viral replication inhibitor – which means that it simply stops viruses from being able to replicate themselves. This is great for trying to prevent the cold sore virus from replicating and staying active in your body.

The side effects which can be experienced from this herb at the current time of writing are possible lowering of blood pressure, headaches, vomiting, can cause dizziness and others.

It is highly recommended that you consult a qualified physician before using this herb or any other product.

Dosage information for Cat’s Claw:

•	It is available in 250 mg to 1,000 mg • When you are buying this herb make sure that it contains Uncaria tomentosa as another plant – Acacia greggi – which	also goes by the name Cat’s Claw is highly toxic.

Dosage per person – 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets in the later afternoon may provide you with the optimum immune system boost. But as said before, consult your physician.

You may need to continue taking this herbal dose until you can no longer see any sign of the cold sore.

When you get sick, your health suffers and your immune system really causes you to feel extremely drained of energy and generally leaving you vulnerable to cold sores forming. You will find that when you have a strong and healthy immune system, your body will stand a better chane to fight the virus that causes cold sores.

The cold sore virus is potent and extremely strong, which means that it will be able to linger in your body even after an episode has been successfully healed. By having a healthier immune system, you will have a better chance of becoming free of the tentacles the virus places into your body.

When you have a healthy immune system you will find that two strategies will come into play.

Helping the white blood cells to protect the body against various viruses like the cold sore virus

Help create needed protein which have the ability of disabling the virus from replicating and reproducing.

Balancing Your pH Levels

One way of combating the cold sore virus is to balance your pH levels. You may not have ever heard this before and might be shocked that your pH levels can influence how many cold sore outbreaks you have. Your pH balance is basically the balance between how acidic or alkaline your body is. In this balance the desired pH level of health that you need to strive is 7.0. If you have below this level, your body will be in an acidic state and if it is above this level your body will be in an alkaline state.

Cold sores have a better chance of developing and thriving when the body’s pH level is below the pH of 7. This state is called acidosis. There has been various research articles lately about the importance of having a more alkaline balance and it is recommended that if you have an issue with cold sore breakouts multiple times a year it may be worth trying out an alkaline diet.

Shoot for pH of 7.3

Cold sores are capable of thriving in environments that have high acid levels. This means that you will need to search for a way to increase your pH level above 7.3 as there is a good chance of the HSV-1 virus developing if you do not have enough alkalines within your body.

How to Raise Your Alkaline Level

What are cold sores? Are they the same thing as fever blisters?

Cold sores are a type of facial lesion that form on the lips or else on the skin in the area that is adjacent to the mouth. They are a very unattractive thing and are also referred to as fever blisters as well as recurrent herpes labialis.

Cold sores are an extremely sore subject for people because it makes us feel self conscious about how we look and how having these cold sores on our lips causes us to shy away from making business connections, meeting people of the opposite sex and even talking with strangers. Cold sores are something that we really don’t want to have because of how they affect our day-to-day basis.

What causes cold sores?

You may have been picked on by friends of your because cold sores are actually considered part of the herpes virus. In fact, cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Although this isn’t the type of herpes that you are probably thinking of, there are actually 2 different types of herpes simplex virus. The two types are known as “type 1″ and “type 2″. Here is the major difference between them:

Type 1 herpes simplex virus.

Herpes simplex virus type 1, which is also known as HSV1 generally only infects the body tissue that is “above the waistline” and it is HSV1 that causes cold sores to take place in the majority of cases.

Type 2 herpes simplex virus.

Herpes simplex virus 2 aka HSV2 usually only affects the body tissue that lies “below the waistline” and is known as genital herpes. Herpes simplex virus 2 is not usually the virus that causes cold sores, although it is entirely possible that it can.

Cold sores are caused by herpes virus particles that previously infected your body.

When you hear that you have an infection, what do you immediately think? If you are like the average person, you probably assume that you were recently exposed to the germ that has caused this specific problem. This is not the case with cold sores. Cold sores actually aren’t a sign of a recently acquired herpes simplex infection but instead are a reactivation of herpes virus particles that are currently living in your body. The cold sore complex is always laying dormant in your body and the actual cold sores start to occurs when the latent herpes simplex virus particles become reactivated.

Where does the dormant herpes simplex virus come from?

The dormant herpes simplex virus particles actually come from a previous herpes infection. A person’s initial herpes simplex virus infection, which actual term is “primary herpetic stomatitis” does not usually take the form of a cold sore. This means that a person may not directly relate their initial exposure to the herpes virus to the recurrent cold sores that they get.

What are the signs and symptoms of an initial herpes (HSV1) infection?

If you’ve ever had an infection before, you probably start to notice signs a day or 2 before the cold sore actually begins forming. The first signs of the infection are characterized by nonspecific symptoms such as a fever, irritability, headaches and even pain upon swallowing.

The next sign is that after the first initial signs have appeared on the person’s mouth becomes painful and their gums become intensely inflamed.

By day 3, the infection starts to form those little blisters around the person’s mouth. When these blisters break or rupture, they result in gray colored ulcers. These ulcers can be extremely painful and often interfere with a person’s ability to eat.

These cold sore ulcers will eventually heal, however the average time without treatment is about 10 to 14 days. This is an extremely long time for a person who is out and living in the world. No one wants to have a cold sore taking the attention of their face for 2 weeks.

Welcome to NaturalColdSoreCure.com

This website is going to be dedicated to helping you get rid of cold sores naturally. I personally have been affected by cold sores for the past 15 years of my life and am frustrated whenever one starts to form. I’ve tried all of the over-the-counter products and still got cold sores. I’ve tried everything from Abreva to Zovirax to Valtrex and none of them cured my cold sores. They would sometimes shorten the duration of the cold sore, but it still wasn’t solving the actual root of the problem.

I’m a person who would rather address the root of the problem and find a cure that way versus only trying to cover up the problem when it actually arises. Prevention has always proven to be more effective than prescription for me in all aspects of my life. I personally exercise daily and find that by doing this and eating healthier, I am able to prevent sickness from taking over my body.

On this website, I will be taking the same approach to help you naturally cure your cold sores.

Natural cold sore cures are a cheaper alternative to curing your cold sore problem and are a better option in my opinion, so I want to help you cure your cold sores.
